February TBR 2025
What’s on deck for this month.
Currently Reading
Physical Books
The Hobbit
by J.R.R. Tolkien
I’m getting back to the roots of fantasy for the first time. I haven’t ready these since I was in middle school, and it is truly amazing how well the hobbit has aged. Very enjoyable with a whimsical tone, I’m about 75% done and will be finishing soon. It is so clear while reading that this is a classic.
The West Passage
by Jared Pechaček
About halfway through this one, after putting it down to read other books in January. I’m not sure why exactly I fell off of it, because whenever I pick it up again I have a blast. Excited to finish it and maybe understand 1/10 of what is going on.
Audiobook
Listen to Your Sister
by Neena Viel
Disclosure: This book was provided as an eARC from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Currently about halfway through this and it is incredibly written. Both hilarious and horrifying, the sibling relationship at the center is so well written, you just feel their shared past. Excited to see what happens as the paranormal elements ramp up.

The Prince Without Sorrow
by Maithree Wijesekara

This looked interesting and I’m always interested in new debuts. It feels like India has such a rich history that should be more explored in fantasy and I’m ready to dive into it.
Ink Blood Sister Scribe
by Emma Törzs
Got a great recommendation for this and have been meaning to get back to it after falling in love with the first page. Now is finally the time to get to it.
Audiobooks
Morning Star
By Pierce Brown
I can’t believe I slept on this series for so long. The audiobooks are so well done and I just cannot wait to see how Pierce Brown lands the trilogy. The first two are both 5/5 for me, and I want to see how Darrow wriggles his way out of this one.
Battle Ground
By Jim Butcher
After the disappointment of the last book, I am a little bit worried about the current entry in the Dresden Files. It has definitely risen to new epic heights, but the last book left a lot to be desired. I know they ended up splitting the book across two, but more should have been done to expand Peace Talks into a satisfying novel. I’ve found the series to be quite up and down after Changes.
Iron Widow
By Xiran Jay Zhao
Just had a friend read this and I’ve heard good things. We’ll see if I have time, but it should come up from my library during the month.
